The movers were scheduled back to back on the week before we flew out. We were thankful that Omi and Aunt Savannah were able to visit the weekend prior and were SO helpful the day the movers arrived. Playing with Omi is always fun and Savannah taught Jeffrey that monkeys say, “Uh oh, stinky!” (We’ll never be able to take him to the zoo again!), snuggled with Jonathan, and hustled us all in a couple games of Catan. We had a good time!
After Sharon and Savannah left we tried our best to keep the boys out of the movers’ way.
They enjoyed playing in the extra space!
My parents were also able to come visit us! They came up to spend our final days in the States with us, to help us to the airport, and then they would roadtrip back to their place with our lovely van they bought from us. Those days were filled with silliness with Abuelo, snuggles with Gram, and of course, delicious food!
After our house was cleared out, Abuelo and Gram watched the boys at the hotel and Taylor and I got some “date” time to finish up some final items at our house before the cleaners came the next day. We enjoyed some goofiness, including running around and hollering like children in the empty house.
All in all it was so nice to have loved ones here to say some “see you laters” in person and to have some extra hands to help while the movers were here. We felt successfully prepared for the adventure ahead.
