We moved into our house in the middle of February! This post is super delayed because we just got internet a week or two ago, but we hope to catch you up with what we’ve been up to!
After much anticipation to get into our house it was finally ready for move in. Taylor rented a van to get us from our hotel to the house. We strategically loaded it up and got the boys to fit and off we went. Except I took the train…we had so much stuff I didn’t fit!! (She still almost beat me there…the Japanese rail system is the best.) Our house is about a 30 minute drive from base and 45 minute via train.
Welcome to our new home! Literally, it’s a brand new build! We lucked out on this being available during our housing search and quickly jumped on it. We had to wait a little bit to move in because it was still being built, but it was worth the wait!
This house has 4 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, a balcony, and a 3rd floor rooftop! We are pretty close to the ocean and can see it from our balcony and rooftop. From what we’ve seen, having this much yard space is pretty unusual in our area. We love the deck and the space for the boys to run around outside. The boys want to collect all the little rocks lol. We were happy that it has plenty of space for easy car parking too!

The first night there we didn’t have any beds yet so this was our setup. Our backs were hurting after that night lol.
The next day we got our expedited household good shipment and some loaner furniture from the housing office.
We quickly ventured to the closest grocery store and have enjoyed discovering different things to cook. Our go to staples have been beef bowls and grilled saba!
Don’t let those faces fool you, they love both those dinners!
About a week later, we got the rest of our household goods. Everything we brought fit in our house and we only had a couple broken things (like my computer desk, which I didn’t like anyways. I’d call that a win!) It’s so nice to have my bed back! I would give updated pictures of our house but I still feel like we are organizing things! Maybe one day…
Here are some photos of our home hangs from the past month or so.
